As the Secretary, Dave, M1OBR was in hospital. Les, G0FAJ stood in as Secretary during the meeting.

Les, G0FAJ read out the minutes of the 2002 AGM.

As all officers were willing to stand for re-election the committee was elected on block. It was accepted that Les, G0FAJ would take take over the position of Secretary if (as expected) Dave, M1OBR moved away from the area.

Owing to the absence of the Treasurer, Rob, G0ECX (who was working away), his report sheet was distributed at the meeting. It was reported that the SDRG2000 bank account stood in credit at £1,278.05 but that there were some outstanding debts.
There was a discussion about the apparent discrepancies between the number of members, compared to the amount of subscriptions collected.

The Chairman, John, G0PGT gave his report and thanked Jan, 2E1NRQ for arranging the hire of the hall and with help from Thelma, 2E1HSA, providing the catering for the evening.

John, M0BQO kindly ran the raffle.

The Repeater Keeper, Geoff, G0EVW reported that there had been some abuse (1) of GB3SD and technical problems with the Packet Node, GB7SD. Although Edward was still the official Sysop, Eric, G0CGL had agreed to take over responsibility for maintenance of the Packet Radio Node.
The Internet Linking experiment with GB3SD was currently suspended as John, G8IKP who was providing the facilities had other commitments. The voice Repeater had performed well during the year, with no reported faults or outages.

Bill, G3EAT and Edward, G3VPF were elected as auditors for the coming year.

It was decided that it was still preferable that SDRG2000 committee members did not also serve on the committee of the South Dorset Radio Society. (2)

The date for the 2004 AGM would be decided at the next committee meeting. (3)

Edward, G3VPF said that there was a possibility of transmitting data from the Chesil Beach Centre via the local Packet Radio Network.

Jon, M0BQO suggested that a Bring and Buy sale should be held at the next AGM. (4)

There being no other business the formal meeting closed at 2105 BST.

Notes:

(1) Fortunately abuse on GB3SD is very unusual. It is reported in the GB3SD Log here:- GB3SD Log - Abuse

(2) During the reformation of the Group in 2001, a discussion took place about the viability of  South Dorset Radio Society committee members also sitting on the SDRG2000 committee. It was agreed that no member should be allowed to sit on both committees to save any confusion in the future. See also here:-  meeting of 24/07/01.

(3) The committee meeting was held on 13/02/04. The 2004 AGM was set to be held on Tuesday 19/10/04.

(4) A Bring and Buy sale was a feature of past SDRG AGM's.
